Castoro de Oro Estate Winery is a 100% BC family-owned and operated estate vineyard and award-winning winery, nestled in Canada’s premier grape-growing region, the original Golden Mile, halfway between Oliver & Osoyoos, BC. Our driveway is directly off Highway 97.
We remain, and are staying, 100% BC Wine! Our grapes are picked at optimum ripeness and our wines finish as well balanced, complex and approachable due to our diligent farming and fabulous terroir. We produce red, white & rosé still wines (not sparkling.) Blends and single varietals. We grow five types of red grapes, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah and five types of white grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Vidal and Siegfried, so lots of selection.
We grow, make, and package it right here on-site and you’ll most likely find an owner serving in our wine shop tasting room as well! In other words we do everything from grapes, to traditional bottle and single serve can, to your glass! And we love to share our wine and time with people who love wine and love having fun.
We have a lovely little picnic area available where you can enjoy sharing a bottle, or a can, of our wine, and soak in our view of vineyards, mountains and Mirror Lake.
Children and LEASHED pets are welcome, please avoid children or pets chasing our cats or entering our catio. If you’re missing your dog, our Welsh Terrier – Molly, loves people and enjoys attention.
Our wine shop is modest, but cozy and comfortable, not glitzy. We are “just” down to earth farmers who produce great wines. You might see our wines in can on-board Air North, Yukon’s Airline, BC Ferries and at all Save on Foods BC Wine Departments. We also sell wine in bottles and/or cans to private liquor stores and restaurants in BC, AB & SK.

Do you make sweet wine?
No, however most of our our wines are smooth and fruity and slightly lower in acidity so you may enjoy them even if you think you like off-dry wines.
Are your wines in cans sparkling?
No our wines that are available in cans are not sparkling. They are the same great wine as in bottle just packaged to take anywhere.
How did you come up with your winery name?
You really need to hear this story in person in our wine shop, please ask when you visit us.
How long has your winery been open?
We purchased our vineyard (already planted) in 2005 and opened our wine shop in April of 2006. YES, over twenty years and still going strong!
Do you do winery or vineyard tours?
No, as we do not have the staff for that. We only have a vineyard person and all the rest of the work (including wine making) is done by us the owners, Bruno Kelle and Stella Schmidt.
