Established in 1959, Covert Farms Family Estate is a fourth-generation, 650-acre organic farm, vineyard, and winery. Situated in Oliver, BC, farmer and winemaker, Gene Covert, grew up working the storybook land with his father and grandfather, and now continues the legacy with his wife Shelly, and their three children. Organic since 2005 and biodynamic since 2008, the Coverts made the switch to regenerative farming six years ago and the farm now boasts more than 40 organically grown fruits and vegetables, and an award-winning portfolio of certified organic, grand reserve and ancestral sparkling estate wines. Visitors to the farm can choose from a selection of educational and immersive experiences, including wine tastings, tours, picnics and kid-approved adventures.

Our wineshop is currently closed for the season and will re-open April 5, 2023.

Q I’m traveling with my children. Can we bring them?

Absolutely! We offer kid-approved tasting experiences and seasonal mini farm tours (available as an add-on when booked alongside an existing wine tasting, private picnic or tour).

Q Can I bring additional guests?

If you are planning on visiting with additional guests who are not pre-booked for a tasting experience, please indicate this in the Notes section when making your reservation – this includes designated drivers, non-wine drinkers, children and infants.

Q Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome to our farm, permitting they are leashed and accompanied by their owner at all times. Please indicate you are bringing your dog in the Notes section of your booking.

Q How long can we spend at Covert Farms?

We offer a variety of onsite experiences, including one-hour wine tastings, two-hour Campfire Cookouts, and 2.5-hour Private Picnics and Hands on Harvest Tours. You are welcome to stay beyond your booked experience, and move to one of the tables on the grass or south deck of the reception barn. We also have plenty of farm games to enjoy!

Q Can we bring our own food?

If you would like to enjoy food with your wine, please book one of our tasting experiences or tours.

Q Can I access Mcintyre Bluff?

Our gate to the farm is now locked due to the number of businesses operating on Covert Farms. We do not have the staffing to adequately and safely manage bluff hiking traffic, and unfortunately are unable to permit access through Covert Farms to the Bluff. For the most up-to-date trailhead information and access points, visit Oliver Tourism. We thank you for your understanding!

Q Is your u-pick open?

Our fruit and vegetable fields are managed by Terry and Harpreet Grewal of Secrest Organics. For any information regarding the fruit stand or pick your own appointments, please call Harpreet at 250-689-2626.
